OUS Bargaining Video Update – July 12th, 2013

Watch this video to learn about the latest developments in bargaining.

Push is quickly coming to shove at the OUS bargaining table. Management remains stubbornly dug in on their anti-worker proposals, including undermining job security, doubling our health insurance premium share, and an economic package that is stunted at best. Click here for a detailed break down of Friday’s bargaining session, including a comparison of the two economic offers on the table.

Because of the lack of progress at the table, we will begin mediation with the state on July 22.

There’s no question that this negotiation has been a challenging one; yet, throughout the state, OUS workers from PSU to SOU have made it clear that they won’t back down until they get a fair and respectful contract. Watch the video for the most recent powerful worker action – a silent protest in the OSU administration building that was 200 workers strong.

Our bargaining team can continue to push at the table because management knows that thousands of workers around the state are engaged in this bargain. Show them that we won’t let up by contacting Chancellor Rose at (503)725-5707 or Melody_Rose@ous.edu and demanding that her team puts a real economic proposal on the table.

Our next scheduled bargaining sessions are July 22 and 23 at WOU in Monmouth and July 29 and 30 at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls.
