UofO members — you are invited to register for our upcoming:
Eugene Area Contract Enforcement Training
- Friday, April 27 — 5:30pm – 9:00pm
- Saturday, April 28 — 9:00am – 5:00pm
- SEIU Eugene Office — 488 E 11th Ave. Suite 200 — Mandela Room
A Contract Enforcement Training is a way that our Union trains members who might want to become Union Stewards. The term Steward is scary for some. A Steward is simply a coworker who is well versed in contract language and is someone who can represent you if your contract rights are violated. By taking this training, you do not have to become a formal Union Steward. We encourage all members to take this training to gain a better understanding of what your contractual rights are. Having more members knowledgeable about the contract is a big goal of our Exec Team. It is never a bad thing to have more members knowing what their rights are! Below are some of the many topics that we will cover:
- Organizing Your Worksite
- Contract Interpretation
- Writing Grievances
- Meeting with Management
- Utilizing the Member Resource Center and Grievance Database
- …and much more.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT BUT IT IS FREE FOR ALL MEMBERS TO ATTEND — MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE TWO SESSIONS.
If you have any questions please contact a Union Organizer: Mariko.
